*Covid-19 Update*

As things slowly start to return to normal, our office will now be staffed between the hours of 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday.

Any enquiries that you have should therefore be directed to our office number, 01387 257272, or our main email address info@braidwoods.com.

While we will endeavour to deal with every enquiry as quickly as possible please bear with us as we do not yet have all staff members back.

In the interest of the safety of our staff, their families and the wider community our office door still remains locked at this time and we are not having meetings of any kind in the office.

Best wishes from all at Braidwoods.

Administration of Estates

At Braidwoods we have extensive experience of estate administration. When a person dies, his property requires to be gathered in and distributed among those entitled to it. This entitlement may flow from deceased person’s Will or be governed by the law of intestacy in circumstances where no Will has been made or the Will has not been wholly effective. At what is a stressful time for people, we seek to keep the family and beneficiaries advised of progress and to assist professionally and sympathetically with what is often “uncharted territory”. We also advise on what is known under the Law of Scotland as Legal Rights, claims on your estate by a spouse and children which cannot be defeated by the making of a contradictory Will.

It is almost always the case that the administration of estates is made easier all round if a proper up to date Will is in place and as part of our Will making service we will assist clients in considering the tax implications of their estates acting along with their Accountants or other advisers to ensure all round advice is provided.
